The extrude option for live Transformation objects will be coming back soon, but in the meantime, there’s a new tool for v. 23 plugins, CC 2019 – 2022 only. It’s called the Axo Zone tool. With this tool, you can click and drag a rectangle to define the boundaries of areas containing your various ortho and axo views. Alternatively, you can just click to get a dialog to choose a zone, then move and resize zones as often as you like. Zones are also found in the File > AxoTools… menu. Zones are saved with the document, and visible only when the Zone tool is active.
Zones aren’t required, and don’t replace common reference points, but instead enhance them. If you move or extrude art in the axo view by dragging a cursor in an ortho view, you may find that it sometimes locks onto the wrong reference point. That’s because it simply looks for the reference point closest to the cursor, which may not be appropriate one. These zones should solve any ambiguity that may arise when extruding or moving by reference.
