AxoTools is now pretty much “feature complete.” Some have said that it approaches “bloat” status, but I honestly don’t see anything there that doesn’t serve a valid purpose for axonometric drawing. I suspect a much bigger issue is that of documentation and training. Features and functions need to be explained and demonstrated in ways that make it easy to use them, and that will be my main focus in the near future.
Some changes may yet happen, though. For about two years now, AxoTools has secretly been able to record Actions! It just hasn’t been properly notified by Adobe Illustrator how to play them back. The latest version of the CORE libraries AxoTools uses supposedly helps plugins access functions such as Actions that are not directly supported by CORE. For now, it’s not working, but there’s hope.
The Auxiliary Projection panel may be revised to be more intuitive and useful. Maybe it will be integrated more with the main projection panel.
This phase of the beta program has essentially ended, with the 2022-10-29 update being the last. Beta releases may return again in 2023, and I’ll post reports here.
Thank you to everyone for your comments and suggestions. I appreciate your input. Please continue to write or post as you prefer. Let’s make AxoTools a better tool to make your work easier and more productive.
